Rain or Shine!! Kindergarten Registration and Playground Night will take place tonight (5/8/24) from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Georgetown Elementary School. The playground is a little wet but we are moving the activities indoors! You can register your incoming kindergartener, meet the teachers, and let your child play with other incoming kindergarten students. This event is for all 2024-2025 kindergarten students! We hope to see you there!

6th-grade students traveled to SSCC for their Battle Bot competition. They competed against middle and high school students from 12 schools. Rylee Hanselman won 1st place in the Exceptional Design category. Will Haus won 2nd place in the Battle Royale for the South Division.

After learning to design in 3D software, use a 3D printer, solder, custom wire, use multiple tools, program, and connect a radio receiver, our 6th-grade students have completed a year of STEM! Monday they attend a Battle Bot event at SSCC in Hillsboro. #IgniteInspireInstill

The Georgetown Exempted Village Schools Board of Education is pleased to announce it recently created the Georgetown Schools Education Foundation Fund. The Fund will receive proceeds of any bequest, gift, or endowment given to the school district for the Fund or given without conditions or limitations. Monies in the fund may be used for operating or capital costs of any existing or new innovative program designed to enhance or promote education within the district in accordance with the Ohio Revised Code. Expenditure of the funds requires a majority vote of the Board of Education. Contributions to the Fund are tax deductible as charitable contributions to a political subdivision under section 170c1 of the Internal Revenue Code. Treasurer Eric Toole explained the District’s decision to create the Fund: “The creation of a foundation fund gives the district flexibility to accept contributions from individuals, families, groups, organizations and businesses, and utilize the funds in a variety of ways, including supplementing existing programs, purchasing additional educational resources, or for capital projects.” Superintendent Brad Winterod added, “We’re excited about the potential of this Fund to supplement and enhance the educational services we provide to our students and appreciate our Board of Education’s foresight and guidance to get the Fund established.” For more information about the Georgetown Schools Education Foundation Fund, please contact Eric Toole, 937-378-3565 or via email at eric.toole@gtown.k12.oh.us.
