The Gazette Athletes of the Month

Aiden Johnson

Senior Aiden Johnson has been part of the Georgetown tennis team for three years and is also a member of the basketball and golf teams. He balances athletics with academics as a member of the National Honor Society.

So far this season, Aiden has helped lead the team to a 6-4 record. A highlight for him was winning three matches in one day during the Wilmington Quad Match against Wilmington, Stivers, and Hillsboro. Another memorable match was his win over a previously undefeated Bethel opponent.

Throughout his time on the team, Aiden has played both singles and doubles and always steps up where he's needed. He was also part of the team’s run of 30+ consecutive league wins and three straight undefeated league seasons.

Aiden’s reliability and team-first mindset have made him a steady and valued player on the court.

Erin Stansberry

Erin Stansberry, a lifelong Georgetown student and senior, is a key member of the track and field team. She's also a multi-sport athlete, playing on the basketball and soccer teams throughout her high school career. Erin has been involved in track for five years and continues to push herself and her teammates to improve.

This season, she broke the school record in shot put with an impressive throw of 38 feet, 11.75 inches. One of her favorite moments came during the Georgetown home meet when she ran in the throwers' relay—dressed as a dinosaur. “I got to run the throwers relay riding a dinosaur at our Georgetown meet against the Wizard of Oz, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, and the Three Blind Mice,” she said.

Outside of athletics, Erin is in the Sports Medicine program at Southern Hills Career and Technical Center and takes College Credit Plus courses. She plans to attend Thomas More University in Cincinnati, where she’ll continue competing in shot put at the collegiate level. Known for her positive attitude and strong work ethic, Erin is a great example of what it means to be involved at GHS.
