For our male athlete of the month, we are excited to recognize Aiden Werner, a first-year member of the soccer team at our school. Aiden joined the soccer team for his senior season and has worked his way up to becoming the starting goalie.

In a game against Clark Montessori this season, Werner’s saves ultimately secured a 3-1 victory.

Mr. Werner achieved a shutout against Felicity earlier in the season, which boosted his confidence as a goalie.

Aiden's only regret is not starting soccer sooner.

Alongside soccer, Werner is a four-year member of the basketball team.

Outside of sports, he is a member of the GHS Hope Squad and the GHS band.

Before tournaments are over, be sure to come out to see Aiden in action as he excels in a new-to-him sport!

Lizzy Cahall, a GHS senior who plans to attend the University of Cincinnati next year, has dedicated an abundance of time to running, not only during the season but also during the off-season.

She has run cross country for a total of six consecutive years.

Cahall is also a member of the basketball and track teams and is a top student at school.

Early in the season, captain Cahall placed first in both the Felicity Early Bird and the Ripley Invitational. She quotes that these wins were a big confidence boost and have helped her be successful throughout the 2024 season.

Cahall’s season best time was at the Williamsburg Invitational where she ran an impressive time of 20:28.40 in her 5k race.

She has goals to win the league tournament race this year and move on to districts and regionals.
