The Land of Grant Honor Band, a Concert Band made up of students from Brown, Clermont, Adams, & Highland Counties, originated in 1976 to commemorate the United States of America's bicentennial. This year, Georgetown High School was represented by two students, and Georgetown Junior High had five participants. The group convened for rehearsals on Friday, Feb. 16, and Saturday, Feb. 17, culminating in a performance at Batavia High School on Sunday, Feb. 18, 2024. Chris Nichter, the Band Director at the University of Cincinnati, led the High School ensemble, with Noah Brownlee and Anna Hastings representing Georgetown. Nancy Moore, a retired music educator, directed the Junior High group, comprising Ava Hicks, Faith Wright, Kaylee Jetter, Will Hastings, and Wyatt Womacks from Georgetown. #IgniteInspireInstill

During parent-teacher conferences on Thursday evening, the STEM lab was bustling with mini engineers engaged in various activities, such as engineering cupid arrows, building heart structures, and discussing suggestions for supporting student learning from home with their families. Evelyn Dunn earned the top spot in the school-wide building challenge by engineering an impressive 20-inch heart structure that could stand independently. Congratulations to Evelyn on her well-deserved win! #IgniteInspireInstill











STEM students worked to solve the problem of picking up garbage around the community. They invented a scissor tool to expand to the ground and pick up garbage.

6th-grade students have learned to design 3D models on their Chromebooks and then convert them to printable files. As their battle bots print they begin to custom wire the wheels and design their bot weapons. Students made a short video here:
